Pit Stop Kennel CH Mechanic 4xw ROM, bred and raised by Pit Stop Kennels, was one of nine apbt pups, five males and four females. From an early age, he showed signs of intense drive. At just five months old, he escaped during kennel cleaning and went straight for the largest game dog in the yard. Thankfully, the kennel staff intervened before serious damage occurred, but the incident revealed Mechanic’s natural instinct and courage.

At ten months, tragedy struck when pitbull ch Mechanic and his sister were stolen. After nearly a month of searching, the female was recovered, which led to identifying the thieves. Pit Stop CH Mechanic was returned shortly after, but in terrible condition, emaciated at 41 lbs (his ideal weight was 51), covered in sores, dehydrated, and nearly bald. With dedicated care and medical support, and thanks to Yankee Greg, he made a full recovery.

At 16 months, Pit Stop CH Mechanic was entrusted to the Yankee Boys Pitbull Kennel, who began his formal conditioning. In his first rolls, he displayed a powerful mouth, explosive speed, and raw strength. With each session, his performance improved. Once at match weight, he dominated two solid opponents, showing an uncanny ability to exploit weaknesses and finish decisively.

One of his most notable matches was against Nixon, a Andre Giroux bred pitbull dog previously used to test Mechanic’s brother, Modine. Despite Nixon’s conditioning and weight advantage, Mechanic proved superior. After an hour of intense action, Nixon faded, and Mechanic secured a clean win with relentless chest work.

Pit Stop CH Mechanic then collected two forfeits at 52 lbs. A scheduled match with Joe M. fell through when the opponent failed to show. Later, Joe T. challenged Pit Stop Mechanic with a son of CH Gambler, named Poker. Despite being 3.5 lbs lighter, Mechanic faced Poker head-on. Poker was slick and head-focused, but Mechanic drove through, and at 22 minutes, Poker couldn’t continue. Pit Stop CH Mechanic claimed his second official win.

His third match came against Dirty Lamar, a 2x winner from C.P. Kennels, bred from Bert Sorrel’s stock. Both game dogs entered the pit in peak condition. Lamar took the head early, but at 9 minutes made a critical mistake, allowing Mechanic to get deep. By 12 minutes, Lamar was finished, and Mechanic scratched hard to claim his championship.

As agreed, once Mechanic earned his title, he was returned to Rick, his breeder, to be retired as a stud. Though many sought to challenge him afterward, Rick stood firm, Mechanic was retired for good, back at Pit Stop Kennels, to preserve his gamedog bloodline.

It’s worth noting that George of the Yankee Boys also produced multiple champions, including CH Gambler and CH Blondie, within just five years, a testament to his skill and dedication to the American Pit Bull Terrier legacy.
