Pat Patrick: A Legendary APBT Breeder
Pat Patrick began his journey in the world of American Pit Bull Terriers (APBT) over 40 years ago. From the start, he showed a deep interest and knowledge in genetics and the breeding of quality APBT game dogs.
Patrick is known for having bred some of the most outstanding dogs in APBT history, including Indian Bolio and Tombstone. These dogs were not only successful in fights but also became excellent producers, leaving a lasting legacy in the breed.
Patrick’s breeding philosophy focused on “gameness” (the desire to keep fighting despite being injured or tired), endurance, combat intelligence, and a strong bite. He firmly believed in the importance of both pedigree and the individual performance of each dog.
Throughout his career, Pat Patrick has bred more APBT champions and APBT ROM (Register of Merit) dogs than any other contemporary breeder. In 2000, he was honored with the ADBA Dogman Hall of Fame plaque, recognizing his significant contribution to the world of APBTs.
His legacy includes numerous influential bloodlines that remain fundamental in APBT history and apbt breeding worldwide.
